The last time the entire family traveled out together was more than a decade ago to Genting Highland in Malaysia. A great getaway and relaxation from one of my toughest moment of 2018. At the time of writing this post, I had returned to reality to deal with the situation heads-on. It’s still not settled but I know it will be done soon.
I consider this a great trip because I had several good talks with my brother. We haven’t talk like this in ages. I’m glad we did!
Time with family is another plus, I get to know them a lot better now. The last time we traveled to Genting Highland I was still only a teenager. Most of the plans were made by my parents then. This trip, however, the responsibility to plan was mostly given to my brother (who is super familiar with Bangkok). I don’t know why but it reminded me that my parents are no longer young. It is time for us to take care of them – in due time.
This trip had lots of undue ‘adventures’ especially on the first day when we first arrived. We forgot our sister’s luggage and had to wait over an hour to retrieve it at Bangkok’s airport. Another incident was when we first arrived at the hotel. Lift was jam when we reached our level. What a first day at Bangkok! I am sure this will be a hot topic within the family in future.
Thank God for this trip. Thank my parents and sister for making it so memorable. And most of all, I want to thank my brother, Zhiwen for planning most of the itineraries and driving us around in spite of Bangkok’s infamous and notorious traffic condition.
